During the Memorial, some of our online attendees wrote these remembrances.Suzanne: Carrie used every moment of her life to appreciate and love and appreciate everything around her.Candace: I had the privilege of working with Carrie on Conway School-related projects. She was always grounded, curious, practical and just plain fun to work with. I will remember her smile and laughter.Elizabeth: Always grateful for Carrie’s wise counsel, warmth and laughter.Karen: Carrie was an extraordinary person and friend to me for 45 years. Steady, so smart, interested, kind, non judgemental, she collected wonderful people around her. I met her at a meetng to save the railroad station in New London.. and I learned from her over the years that if she said "Wouldn't it be nice if . . . "she would go ahead and do it. I would just like to add that Carrie's plants are all over the place . . . Cuttings and plants she shared with me over the years were also shared with others in other places.Rebekah: Very glad to be apart of celebrating Carrie’s life today, even from afar. I was very grateful to have visited with Carrie and Kathy when my family and I lived in Connecticut. One special memory of these two wonderful women was visiting with them when my son was born. They brought gifts and lots of warmth. Celebrating Carrie’s life and remembering her fondly.Susan: In addition to, or perhaps a by-product of all the other traits mentioned by others, Carrie had the wonderful ability to suggest ideas or advice in such a way that the recipient accepted these ideas without feeling demeaned. And then was able to mull these ideas and often implement them. She was a wonderful and special person.Deb: Thank you all for this warm tribute...Carrie was my half-sister and we became close in adulthood. I loved her!
